Anyone who has ever read one of RWK Clark’s fiction books knows that they are in for a treat. This particular installment is certainly no different. It tells the vampire legends story of DeSai who once ruled with the type of authority that only someone with a truly black heart could display. However, the book goes on to explore the life of this wicked ruler in a much more in-depth fashion than most supernatural thrillers of this type.
In the novel, the vampire is found to be vulnerable. Instead of being capable of ruling to the very end, he has found himself on a quest for one thing and only one thing- a family. Make no mistake about it, he wants a family of vampires, and he is not the least bit shy about turning otherwise innocent people into exactly that. After all, it’s not his fault that these people were curious enough to show up in his territory.
Now he has that family but he is still missing the queen, Rasia, whom he lusts after. He knows that she is the only one who is capable of keeping up with or matching his wits with him. The problem is that he is immortal and she isn’t. She wants immortality more than anything else in the world, and now he wants her.
